Ellison Lor

Hi, my name is Judy Yang. I was born in Fresno, CA. I am Hmong American. I am bilingual in English and Hmong. I currently reside in Catawba County.

I moved to Hickory, NC in 2011 and graduated from St. Stephens High School. I received the NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship in 2006 and I went on to college. I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. I taught all throughout North Carolina for about 9 years. There was a great need for bilingual associates at Ellison Lor State Farm so I joined the team to assist with the demands. Even though I miss my students, it has been a great joy to teach adults about insurance and managing risk from everyday life.

My husband, Ellison, and I have two spunky daughters and one crazy baby boy. August is my little artist, Tempy is my diva and Ellison Jr is my silly one. We also have a pet dog name Buster. He’s a Yorkie and just turned 4.

I love spending time with my family. Almost every moment outside of work is dedicated to family festivities or events. I have 8 siblings and so does my husband, so I go to more birthday parties and showers than anyone can ever imagine. An ideal evening for me is being home and watching a movie with Ellison and our kids. If I ever get my own time, I love doing art. Whether that be painting on a canvas or doing someone’s hair and makeup, I enjoy creating beautiful things. If you come by the office, you’ll see a couple of my works in Ellison’s office such as the red truck on his wall.

I am licensed in Auto, Home, Life & Health for North and South Carolina. I’m very detailed oriented. I thoroughly explain coverages and options to people so they can make the correct decision for themselves. It’s not uncommon for my life quotes to be colored coordinated for people. Hi, my name is Raphaela Solis, but everyone calls me Rafy. I was born and raised in Statesville, NC. I am bilingual in Spanish and English.

I graduated with my GED from Mitchell Community College in 2019. I worked in manufacturing since I was 18 years old, but I knew in my heart that I wanted to be in a career where I was able to help my community. After doing some research, I felt that the insurance field was the right place for me. Ellison Lor State Farm had a great need for a Spanish bilingual associate due to their growing business and I was more than happy to put my skills to use.

I am very family oriented. I enjoy spending time with my family and my boyfriend, Victor. I am the middle child. My sister, Ana, is four years older than me, and my brother, Reivy, is six years younger than me. We love spending time together on the weekends. Victor and I often find fun activities to do with my family such as amusement and trampoline parks.

Aside from spending time with my family on the weekends, I volunteer my time with a local nonprofit organization called TeamMela Creando Conciencia. The organization sells food or asks for donations for less fortunate families who are in extreme financial binds when the family encounters medical emergencies or untimely deaths. When time permits, I plan a calm day. I stay in reading books and watching movies all day snuggled up. I have been an animal lover since I was very little, and I am still very passionate about animal care and rescue.

Since I began my insurance career, I have obtained my license to quote and service: Auto, Home, Life, and Health products in North and South Carolina. It is a very fulfilling career to be in a position where I can directly assist families. I thoroughly explain coverages to adults in English and Spanish so they can make the correct decision to cover the risks of everyday life.

Hello! My name is Colleen Yang. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. I am bilingual in Hmong and English.

I resided in Newton, NC for a few years but moved back to Kimberly, WI where I attended high school. Later I moved to Milwaukee, WI where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Media Design from Alverno College. After graduating, I worked at a Hmong Charter school, starting off as a paraprofessional. I worked with first graders before I was promoted into a Marketing and IT position. I recently made the move back to North Carolina in October of 2023. I have always found fulfillment in helping those around me, especially those that cannot advocate for themselves.

I am very family oriented and come from a blended family. I am one of the middle children among my siblings. I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Most weekends are spent cooking together and enjoying each other’s company.

When I am not with my family, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, David. We both come from big families so there is never a dull moment, nor a free weekend. We enjoy trying new foods together, as well as cooking, doing small arts & crafts, playing volleyball, and watching movies. On the rare occasion that I have time alone, my favorite things to do when I unwind is read, listen to music or do my hair & makeup.

Since I started at Ellison Lor State Farm, I have gotten licensed in Auto and Home. I pride myself in being a lifelong learner. I’m always asking questions so I can better educate you and myself. Holding a customer service position, you’ll find me in the front of the office as soon as you walk in.

Hi, my name is Choung Lo, but everyone calls me Li. I am a first generation Hmong-American. I was born and grew up in Connecticut. I married my husband and moved to Charlotte, NC about 10 years ago.

I graduated from Dean College with my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. I have worked in different jobs throughout my career. I have been a Head Custodian, and Energy Lab Technician, and Project Coordinator Administrator. I also co-own a meat processing shop in Catawba. My heart was drawn to insurance when I saw the need for risk management with my family and loved ones. I saw the great impact that insurance had on helping people in the darkest times. When I saw Ellison had an opening, I jumped on board.

My husband and I don’t have any of our own children yet, but love being an uncle and aunt. We both come from large families and love spending time with our entire family. I am also a Chicken Momma. My backyard is full of chickens of all sorts. They fill my backyard with different colors.

Outside of Ellison Lor State Farm and family time, I also Co-Own a meat processing shop with some family members. I enjoy providing service and products to people who don't have their own source of protein. I don’t have much free time for anything else, but I love what I do.

I am licensed in Auto, Home, Life & Health for North Carolina. I love being able to assist people with their insurance needs and helping them understand what they are getting or have. Just knowing that I made a difference in someone’s life, their family, and future is a great fulfillment.

Hi, my name is Ana Solis Chavez. I am 27 years old. I was born and raised in Statesville, North Carolina. I am Mexican American and speak both English and Spanish.

I graduated from South Iredell High School in 2015. I have worked in customer service at various jobs through the years. I had to take a break from working in 2021 due to not having a care giver for my son who was 3 at the time. I have had an addition to the family since I took that break. When I heard that Ellison Lor State Farm had a remote position available for a bilingual team member, I took the chance to apply for the position.

My husband, Freddie, and I have 3 beautiful crazy kiddos and we also have a Belgian Malinois named Hazel. My daughter, Angeli, is 9. My son, Oliver, is 5. My baby girl, Delaney, is almost 1. Working remote gives me the flexibility to get my work done while still being able to look after the kids. I don't get too much free time because most of my energy is focused on raising my children.

I am licensed in Auto, Home, Life & Health for North Carolina. I am only part-time for the moment. I look forward to growing here with my newfound team and work family. I work mostly in customer service and will always try my hardest to help customers with any concerns they may have.
